This is a general breakdown of the categories that may be selected when creating a post. Each category has a brief description of the types of possible posts that should be included in that category

Guides:

A guides category can be found under each of the main species categories Animals, Plants, Fungi and The Rest. This category is for posts that may be more in depth and complete than the general info given for that species(id guides, lifecycles, etc.) or for posts that share information on several species within the main category e.g. a comparison of species of hickory trees within an ecoregion

Hunt:

Tracking/Stalking

Anything related to tracking or stalking

Trapping

Anything related to trapping

Fishing

Anything related to fishing

Strategies/Techniques

Posts about strategies or techniques for hunting specific species or terrain e.g. how to hunt whitetail deer in specific situations

Processing

Posts about field dressing, skinning, processing, etc.

Tools

Posts about processes like bow or arrow making, or how to use specific tools for hunting

Gather:

Edible

Anything related to wild edibles

Medicinal

Anything related to herbal medicine

Survival:

Fire

Anything related to fires and fire making

Water

Anything related to water collection, purification, etc. in a survival setting

Basic shelter

Anything related to basic shelters

Navigation

Anything related to navigation in a survival setting

Emergency

Anything related to emergency situation skills like injuries and rescue etc.
